-1 o'clock release
Friday: -Homework due
Upcoming:
Monday, November 11th: No School-- Veteran's Day
Homework:
Math: Students will receive a double-sided practice page which reviews solving multiplication word problems and addition equations.
Word Study: This week, we will review the spelling patterns we have learned so far and students will be assessed on Friday. Students will work on a double-sided review page for homework this week.
Reading: Keep on reading!
Here's what's been going on in our class!
Math: Last week, we worked as a class to decide on a topic to learn more about from other classes. Ultimately, the students decided on "what is your favorite holiday to celebrate?". This week, students will work to organize their data and will also think about how they can represent data based off of measurements.
Reading: We have been working hard to summarize sections of nonfiction texts using the boxes and bullets strategy. Students have been working to write "third grade level" main ideas by making sure they are writing a full sentence that describes what most of the section was about. This week, students will be exploring how to use information from two texts to prove a main idea.
Writing: Students are in the revising stage of the writing process now. Last week, they learned how to paragraph their writing and how to appropriately punctuate dialogue. Students will wrap up the revising stage this week and begin publishing next week! Stay tuned for an invite to our first writer's celebration!
Science: Last week, we thought about how the process of selection can result in different varieties of plants. This week, we will observe some seeds that have started sprouting in our classroom, analyzing their life cycles and properties.
Have a wonderful week!
